SALENTO
Passion, chants and tables
Chants of Passion - From 9 to 16 March,
traditional and devotional Chants linked to the Passion
of Christ are performed in the churches and the squares
of the Grecìa Salentina. In 2008 Edition of the
Chants, the restaurateurs of the Grecìa, Alessano
and Galatina present the “Chants of Passion”
Menu. The restaurants participating to this initiative
will display their menus at the entrance.
Le Tavole di San Giuseppe - Tables of S. Giuseppe
- On 14 and 15 March in Giurdignano, Minervino di Lecce
and Uggiano La Chiesa the ancient rite of the “Tables
of S. Giuseppe “ takes place again. Processions
of S. Giuseppe curl through the streets of the city
centre, while in the houses of the devotees the tables
are laid. They are set by people whom S. Giuseppe granted
to recover from some illness. S. Giuseppe Menu can be
found in the restaurants participating to the initiative.
